A special election to fill the vacancy in New Jersey’s 10th congressional district, will take place on Wednesday, September 18.

LaMonica McIver is the union choice, endorsed by the New Jersey State AFL-CIO.

The district consists of portions of Essex County including Caldwell, East Orange, Essex Fells, Irvington, Orange, Verona, West Orange and parts of Montclair and Newark. Further, portions of Jersey City in Hudson County as well as Cranford, Garwood, Hillside, Kenilworth, Linden, Roselle, Roselle Park, and Union Township within Union County.

There are three ways to vote.

  1. Vote Early. Early Vote Centers are open within each county Monday-Saturday 10:00 am- 8:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am- 6:00 pmthrough Monday, September 16.
     
  2. Vote-by-Mail. All vote-by-mail ballots must be placed in a ballot drop box or postmarked by 8:00 pm on Election Day, Wednesday, September 18.
     
  3. Vote on Election Day:Wednesday, September 18. Polls open 6:00 am – 8:00 pm
